Παρουσιάστηκαν τα νέα Ducati Hypermotard, Hypermotard SP & Hyperstrada.
Από το MCN:
Ducati has announced a new Hypermotard 800 and an adventure-touring spin-off called the Hyperstrada, in Milan today.

Both share the same 821cc V-twin which uses the second generation Testastretta 11° cylinder head design being employed across many bikes in the Ducati range, including the Diavel and Multistrada 1200.

The 11° head, combined with twin-spark ignition, a new air bleed system and revised fuel injector positioning, means the power delivery should be much smoother than before.

The engine marks the debut of water-cooling for the Hypermotard, which has been air-cooled since its 2007 launch. The need to move to water-cooling has come about as a result of needing to lower emissions and noise and also to extend servicing intervals.

The engine now has valve checks at 18,000 mile intervals.
The two bikes also share a common chassis, steel trellis front frame, cast alloy subframe, and much of the suspension.

The Hyperstrada offers greater touring potential thanks to a taller screen, panniers, centrestand, sump guard and bigger mudguards. Strangely the fuel tank isn’t any bigger than the 16 litres offered on the standard Hypermotard.

Both standard Hypermotard and SP versions and the Hyperstrada share exactly the same engine - which is an all-new version of the previous air-cooled motor with capacity stretched to 821cc and now featuring water-cooling for the first time.

Ducati wasn’t chasing outright performance with this engine and the 110bhp at 9250rpm and 65.8ftlb of torque at 7750rpm are claimed to be very tractable.

For increased user-friendliness, engineers reduced the amount of valve over-lap from around 40° - typical in performance engines that operate constantly at high rpm - to just 11°.

This reduced peak horsepower slightly, but enhanced mid-range and overall smoothness - perfect prerequisites for the required versatility of the new Hypermotards.

In keeping with almost all new Ducatis the Hyperstrada is fully equipped with the latest electronic rider aids including eight-level traction control (DTC), three-level ABS, and three riding modes (Sport, Touring and Urban).

The chassis is all-new with a combination of 34mm tubular steel trellis main section with a newly designed die-cast aluminium rear subframe and a polymer bonding between the two sections.

The wheelbase has been increased on all three models to improve stability and goes from 1490mm on the Hyperstrada to 1505mm on the Hypermotard. Brakes are new Brembo M4-32 calipers at the front with 320mm discs.

Hypermotard SP

The SP is the highest-specification version of the new Hypermotard and comes with a fully adjustable, pressurised Marzocchi upside-down fork. The rear suspension is equally high-end with fully adjustable Ohlins rear shock with integrated reservoir.

The Hypermotard SP has Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP tyres in 120/70 R17 for the front and 180/55 R17 for the rear and is equipped with super lightweight 1199 Panigale S-style triple three-spoke forged aluminium wheels by Marchesini.
Additional components on the SP include front mudguard and cam-belt covers in carbon fibre, radial front master cylinder with five-point adjustable lever and dedicated seat with specially textured surface and horizontally stitched panels for enhanced grip.
